Marie Antoinette {Fairytale Session}

June 12, 2014  •  14 Comments

I was very excited when Ashley Concillio called me about doing a fairytale session for her little girl. I believe she said "I want something completely over the top!" I immediately thought... MARIE ANTOINETTE! I had this theme in mind for a while prior to her call so I was beyond excited to finally get to make it a reality! Once she sent me pictures of little Milleigh, I knew this was the perfect theme. She was such a little model! This shoot took a couple of months to plan, prepare, and create (not to mention I was in school at the time- so that slowed things down quite a bit). I looked all over for a place that had a "Versailles" feel to match my vision (crazy dream right?!). However, I could find nothing that was just quite right, so I thought...why can't I just MAKE something like this? Needless to say...my boyfriend and grandmother were not too thrilled when I told them my idea. (They help me on nearly every large shoot like this!) But, with some persuasive asking (*cough* begging *cough*), they finally agreed! So here is the final result! I will post some behind the scenes pictures at the end to show you the creation of the set! Please let me know what you think in the comments, and feel free to share on Facebook!

So there you have it! Definitely one of my favorite photoshoots thus far. There are SO many people to thank for making this shoot possible!

Nana (a.k.a Darla Thames, coolest grandmother of all time), thank you SO much for your help with this shoot! You spent so many hours making each and every piece for the background and helping me put it all together! I'm so lucky to have someone as energetic, creative and selfless as you for a grandmother!

Nana working on the set! (Please excuse the cell phone quality!)

Next, I would like to thank Stella Sorey for bringing out her Leroy (the adorable miniature horse). I know it was a LOT of trouble, but it truly MADE the photoshoot. Plus, I think Milleigh really liked him ;) I can't thank you enough!

I would also like to thank Social Bites of Ruston for the cake and cake stand! The cake was a dummy cake for ease of transport but seriously guys... go by and try their cupcakes (actually anything they make)...they are TO DIE FOR! Click here to go to their Facebook page and see all of their mouth-watering-delicious goodies!

As always I must thank my sweet boyfriend Wayland Morgan for all of the help on this shoot as well as all other shoots! He picks up couches by himself when I am too much of a wimp to even pick up half! (true story) He takes down/puts up the sets that I am finished with before I even finish the full shoot so I don't have to worry about it afterwards. But most importantly, he puts up with my crazy, controlling, stressed out, overly-dramatic, pre-fairytale shoot self with reassurance and patience! I can't thank you enough!

Last, but certainly not least I would like to thank Ashley Concillio, Donna Spiegel (her mom), and little Milleigh for giving me the opportunity to make this shoot happen! Mrs. Donna MADE the gorgeous gown featured in the shoot.

Isn't she insanely talented?! Milleigh, thank you for being the best little model ever! I truly hope you all treasure the experience and photographs- I know I did!

With Love,

Savannah Kate Photography

P.S. If you enjoyed this session/blog post please don't forget to share to all of your friends!
