My name is Savannah Kate Morgan and I am a fairytale photographer from North Louisiana. Since I was a little girl, I have been obsessed with fairytales and all things whimsical and magical. I have always used photography as a way to document how I see the world. I have used it as an escape sometimes, from reality. I believe that in going through the process of imagining a concept and bringing it to life, I collect pieces of myself, and awaken aspects that are buried deep down inside of me. I am highly influenced by stories such as Alice in Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, and The Neverending Story- anything that is ethereal, whimsical, and promotes dreaming as a form of distorted reality. I use photography as a door, or a Rabbit Hole, to allow me passageway to a completely unmapped world and to design my dreams and my future. Though I photograph pretty much all things, such as weddings, children, high school seniors, etc., my passion has and always will be fairytale sessions. I have compiled a collection of images that I have created over the years, side-by-side with their original fairytales.

A while back I had the honor of photographing Mrs. Kemper's engagements, bridals and wedding. As you can see, I pretty much hit the photographer jackpot. I think the above picture describes Kemper in so many ways. She is gorgeous (obviously), but is equally as radiant on the inside. She is the embodiment of grace. Although this picture does not show her infectious smile, I feel like you can just see God's love shining through her.

I was very excited when Ashley Concillio called me about doing a fairytale session for her little girl. I believe she said "I want something completely over the top!" I immediately thought... MARIE ANTOINETTE! I had this theme in mind for a while prior to her call so I was beyond excited to finally get to make it a reality! Once she sent me pictures of little Milleigh, I knew this was the perfect theme. She was such a little model! This shoot took a couple of months to plan, prepare, and create (not to mention I was in school at the time- so that slowed things down quite a bit). I looked all over for a place that had a "Versailles" feel to match my vision (crazy dream right?!). However, I could find nothing that was just quite right, so I thought...why can't I just MAKE something like this? Needless to say...my boyfriend and grandmother were not too thrilled when I told them my idea. (They help me on nearly every large shoot like this!) But, with some persuasive asking (*cough* begging *cough*), they finally agreed! So here is the final result! Next, I would like to thank Stella Sorey for bringing out her Leroy (the adorable miniature horse). I know it was a LOT of trouble, but it truly MADE the photoshoot. Plus, I think Milleigh really liked him ;) I can't thank you enough!

As always I must thank my sweet boyfriend Wayland Morgan for all of the help on this shoot as well as all other shoots! He picks up couches by himself when I am too much of a wimp to even pick up half! (true story) He takes down/puts up the sets that I am finished with before I even finish the full shoot so I don't have to worry about it afterwards. But most importantly, he puts up with my crazy, controlling, stressed out, overly-dramatic, pre-fairytale shoot self with reassurance and patience! I can't thank you enough!
Last, but certainly not least I would like to thank Ashley Concillio, Donna Spiegel (her mom), and little Milleigh for giving me the opportunity to make this shoot happen! Mrs. Donna MADE the gorgeous gown featured in the shoot.

For this outfit I chose "Back to Black" By: Amy Winehouse {should be playing...and also censored} :)
It might be cliche but I often times find myself going "back to black", as in always purchasing/wearing black. I'm not saying this is a bad thing though. Black is always in style, always appropriate, and goes with almost anything.
Today was just one of those rushed days. This outfit was so easy to throw together. That is one great thing about black colored pieces, they normally make you look more "put together" than you may feel yourself.
This was a very thin black cotton dress, so it was EXTREMELY comfortable. It wasn't cold today, but had a slight breeze so it worked well with the weather. I threw on some simple black leggings and this outfit was a go!
Because this dress was so simple, I just felt like adding some "pop". I added multiple gold accents- including this gold and black statement necklace from Altar'd State.
One of my favorite (and most controversial) accessories is my Ray-Ban Clubmasters. I thought they just topped off this outfit and gave that "classic" edge I was going for!
To continue the gold/black theme I had going on throughout the outfit, I decided to wear these AMAZING Steve Madden boots. They feature black leather with a gold plated heel. Whenever I wear an outfit I always like to "throw a curve-ball", or, wear something unique and different to a classic outfit. I love making people go "Wait...what?" :) I got these at Dillard's back when they were having their Labor Day sale- I just couldn't resist-they were too fabulous!

Hey, everyone! Just for fun, I thought I would give this style blog thing a shot. For most of you who know me, you know I have a very...eclectic style. I've definitely gotten the "Only you could pull that off!" many, many times. I always take this as a huge compliment because it means I have no rules. Just like in my photography, I also just dress in what I like, in what inspires me. There are numerous things that inspire me in life- photography, clothes, and music (just to name a few). Normally, if I create an outfit, there is always a song that inspires it. So, I think I will try to incorporate music into this project! Like I said, this is just a test so let me know what you think in the comments!
For this outfit I chose "My Favorite Things" By: Avila {should be playing}
For my first outfit I chose something girly with a hint of edge.
If you will notice, the blouse it not very fitted. However, because it is flowy it gives a very flattering, breezy look.
I paired this outfit with my new ballet flats (I mean that in the most literal way possible). They matched the color of the top great and mainly, I have just been dying to wear them! They really make me nostalgic of my pointe days. :)
I bought this blouse the other day, so this is the first time I got to wear it (YAY!). If I continue to write these, you will probably notice a pattern. About 80% of my clothes come from TJ MAXX. *cue gasp here* I will admit it, I am a Maxxinista tried and true. I don't know if it's the thrill of the hunt or the insanely low prices, but either way I can definitely say it's my favorite store. I like to keep up with the trends so TJ MAXX allows me to do this without breaking the bank. Now that I have finished my TJ rant, let me get to this blouse. When I saw it, it was love at first sight. I don't know why but I am always drawn to this vintagey blush color. Though I have had many people tell me it doesn't work with my skin tone, I just can't help myself. This blouse also has GREAT textures. The asymmetrical top layer is made out of Seta Silk and feels like a cloud. There is a beautiful layer of tiny sequins that gives it a fairy like feel (which I love)! Another great thing about this blouse is that there is another layer of fabric underneath the sequin layer that is a very soft cotton so it isn't scratchy!
As for jewelry for this outfit, I paired it with some simple pearl earrings, a pearl bow bracelet, and a pearl and gold necklace.
